Emerson is looking for a Field Service Technician in Shanghai, China to support after-sales service for customers. Responsibilities include product repair, troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, and installation support, using various instruments and software tools. The role requires an Associate degree in Electronics, strong troubleshooting skills, and proficiency with test equipment.

Responsibilities

Upgrade, troubleshoot, test, and maintain defective customer instruments and modules using software tools (LabVIEW, TestStand) and hardware (signal analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters).
Provide technical feedback and improvement recommendations to manufacturing and design teams.
Advise customers on proper use and maintenance based on failure-mode analysis.
Collaborate with customer representatives, application engineers, product engineers, and R&D engineers to resolve issues.
Complete new-product training and establish local capabilities for product upgrades, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance.
Train other local technicians on technical documentation and procedures.
Assist test engineers with the upgrade, validation, and preventive maintenance of hardware and software.
Assist factory installation service engineers with hardware and software installation and commissioning.
Recommend continuous improvement initiatives based on operating models and processes.

Requirements

Associate degree or above in Electronics or a related discipline.
Solid fundamentals in analog circuits, digital circuits, high-frequency circuits, switched-mode power supplies, and power conversion.
Self-motivated with strong teamwork, customer service, and confidentiality awareness.
Strong logical thinking, circuit analysis, and hands-on skills.
Ability to independently diagnose and repair complex circuits.
Proficient in the use of common test instruments (oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, spectrum analyzers).
Skilled in using hot-air rework stations and soldering irons to replace electronic components.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in chip-level electronic circuit repair.
Experience in repair of electrical equipment, household appliances, or power supplies.
Familiarity with software development using LabVIEW and TestStand.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
Familiarity with IPC-6001D.
Familiarity with NI hardware.
