Emerson is looking for a Buyer 1 in Pune, India, to manage purchase requisitions, release purchase orders, and collaborate with suppliers to ensure material availability. The role requires a degree in Mechanical or Production engineering with at least 3 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain, strong negotiation skills, and knowledge of import/outsourcing processes.

Responsibilities

Review purchase requisitions and release purchase orders on suppliers.
Collaborate with local and overseas suppliers to ensure material availability.
Identify risks and escalate challenges to meet expected deliveries.
Update master data including KANBAN in the system.
Coordinate with planning team to provide status against pending purchase orders.
Coordinate with global supply chain team, stores, logistics, quality, production, and finance teams to resolve issues.
Implement ECN actions.
Identify and mitigate supply chain challenges.
Attend internal and external audits.
Negotiate with suppliers for best lead times and cost.
Prepare and submit management information reports related to supply chain.
Suggest and implement improvements in the P2P process.

Requirements

Degree in Mechanical, Production engineering or any related or equivalent field.
Minimum 3 years' experience in purchasing / procurement / supply chain.
Detailed understanding of supply chain processes and commercial terms.
Excellent negotiation skill and interpersonal skill.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of import process and outsourcing process.
Exposure of procuring machined, metal molded, fabricated and buyout parts.

Desired Qualifications

Detailed machining process and costing knowledge.
Excellent computer skills, ERP knowledge, technical aptitude that includes strong data gathering interpretation, and informed decision making.
