Responsibilities

  • Release planned orders, schedules, and forecasts to suppliers for component requirements.
  • Hold suppliers accountable to shipping requirements and manage supplier relationships.
  • Develop recovery plans as needed for suppliers.
  • Work closely with customer planners to ensure product availability.
  • Monitor and oversee inventory systems.
  • Manage inbound logistics and expedite shipments as needed.
  • Assist the receiving team to resolve issues with inbound freight.
  • Set lead times and inventory targets based on demand, logistics patterns, and risk.
  • Maximize shipment efficiencies.
  • Resolve issues between shipping locations, carriers, receiving departments, inventory analysts, and buyers.
  • Act as a liaison between suppliers, production, purchasing, and carriers.
  • Advise on trends and/or shifts in demand impacting service levels.
  • Respond to critical logistics issues, potentially during off-hours.
