The Staff Accountant will manage the accounts payable function, including invoice processing, payment execution, and vendor management. This role also supports general accounting, month-end close activities, cash management, and compliance with accounting principles. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and 5-6 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee invoice processing, matching, and approval.
  • Manage payment runs (ACH, check, wire, virtual card) and optimize cash flow.
  • Maintain vendor master data, handle onboarding, and resolve inquiries.
  • Enforce internal controls and compliance, support 1099 reporting and tax compliance.
  • Support month-end close by completing accruals and reconciling AP subledger.
  • Track KPIs such as DPO, invoice cycle time, and report on AP aging.
  • Support Senior Accountant with month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in analysis of account variances.
  • Provide support for Group-level financial reporting.
  • Perform daily bank transaction and month-end bank account reconciliations.
  • Maintain and update the accounts payable ledger.
  • Identify and resolve reconciliation variances.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Support internal and external audit activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Partner with Accounts Receivable, Finance leaders, and other business functions.
  • Communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5-6 years of accounts payable experience.
  • Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Progressive accounting experience supporting general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with ERP and accounting systems, preferably NetSuite.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and financial analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and initiative.
  • Maintains professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Works effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset and willingness to challenge inefficient processes.
