Responsibilities
- Apply engineering principles and AI techniques to solve complex problems.
- Determine user requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Understand and apply Microsoft's responsible AI practices.
- Quickly learn and incorporate new engineering methods, AI, and machine learning techniques.
- Seek feedback and apply best practices to improve technical solutions.
- Demonstrate skill in time management and completing software projects in a cooperative team environment.
- Review current developments and proactively seek new knowledge to improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with at least one semester/term remaining after the internship.
- OR currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with at least one semester/term remaining after the internship.
Desired Qualifications
- One year of programming experience in an object-oriented language.
- Demonstrated understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms, and AI/machine learning concepts.
- Experience with AI/ML projects, such as developing machine learning models, working with large datasets, or implementing AI solutions.
- Familiarity with AI frameworks and libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Microsoft Roo Code, with an understanding of their strengths and limitations.
