As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Emerson, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of software within a collaborative Agile team. This role involves hands-on testing, automation, and technical investigation to deliver reliable software experiences and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Champion quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
Develop a strong understanding of software platform and customer workflows.
Translate business and technical requirements into comprehensive test strategies.
Execute exploratory, functional, regression, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Investigate, document, and verify software defects.
Design, develop, and maintain automated tests.
Partner with developers and product owners to improve requirements clarity.
Utilize AI-enabled tools responsibly to support testing and automation.
Analyze testing trends and quality metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Actively contribute to Agile, Scrum, and SAFe ceremonies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in software quality assurance.
Experience with manual and automated testing of web-based, enterprise, or complex software applications.
Knowledge of software testing principles, exploratory testing, test design techniques, defect management, and risk-based testing.
Experience designing and executing tests across user interfaces, APIs, integrations, backend services, and data workflows.
Experience developing or maintaining automated tests using modern frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium).
Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java).
Experience using relational databases and SQL for test data management and validation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Desired Qualifications

Experience balancing manual testing activities with scalable and maintainable automated test coverage.
Experience using Azure DevOps, Git-based workflows, test management tools, and CI/CD practices.
Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools to enhance testing, automation, analysis, and quality practices.
Experience testing cloud-based, SaaS, distributed, or highly integrated software solutions.
Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or SAFe environments with geographically distributed teams.
Experience supporting industrial automation, SCADA, control systems, IoT, IIoT, telemetry, or related operational technology solutions.
