Amazon is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead a team focused on building and scaling the Time & Attendance platform for over 1.8 million hourly associates globally. This role requires strong engineering leadership, architectural design skills, and a deep understanding of building highly reliable, low-latency systems at massive scale.

Responsibilities

Own the technical vision and architecture for Amazon time-off management and pay policy execution.
Design scalable, fault-tolerant systems for accurate pay computation across various policies and regulations.
Build and lead a high-performing team, including recruiting, coaching, and mentoring.
Drive best practices in code quality, design reviews, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
Own service health, on-call, monitoring, and post-mortem processes for critical pay systems.
Define and prioritize the product roadmap in partnership with product, payroll, and compliance stakeholders.
Drive cross-team alignment and ensure seamless delivery across the time-to-pay pipeline.

Requirements

7+ years of engineering experience.
3+ years of engineering team management experience.
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle.
Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership.
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing Software Engineers.
