Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Software Development Engineers working across the mobile-cloud stack.
Own end-to-end delivery of features and platform capabilities for Amazon's Personal Devices.
Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for mobile applications (Android, iOS, React Native) and cloud services.
Partner closely with product managers, UX designers, QA, and cross-functional engineering teams.
Set a high engineering bar through rigorous design reviews, code quality standards, and best practices.
Identify and resolve technical risks, ambiguities, and complex issues spanning the device, mobile, and cloud layers.
Recruit, hire, and develop top engineering talent.
Communicate effectively with senior leadership and stakeholders.
Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap of EDS, shaping the future of wearable and personal device technology.

Requirements

7+ years of engineering experience
3+ years of engineering team management experience
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

Desired Qualifications

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
