ASSA ABLOY is looking for a Purchasing Officer to join their Spence Doors team in Forest Glen, QLD. The role involves day-to-day purchasing activities, managing inventory, and working with suppliers to ensure quality, price, and service standards are met. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required, with manufacturing industry experience being preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain updated purchasing records, data, and pricing in the system.
Handle and monitor claims to the factory and vendors for defectives, shortages, and missing parts.
Assist with sourcing and selecting the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, delivery, and service with suppliers.
Manage inventory levels of materials or products in liaison with operations and budget requirements.
Reconcile creditor invoices with purchase orders to make sure that contracts and prices are as agreed.
Work intimately with production and sales teams on upcoming products and manufacturing techniques.
Prepare production work orders in accordance with site specifications and legal certifications.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Purchasing Officer.
Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
Strong negotiating skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
Good knowledge of procurement software and tools.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to identify opportunities for improvement.
Must be based on the Sunshine Coast and hold full working rights.
