Production Supervisor, 3rd Shift Assembly

We are seeking a Production Supervisor for the 3rd shift assembly team in Marshalltown, Iowa, to oversee daily operations of large value stream assembly. This role involves maintaining a strong safety culture, planning work activities, identifying training gaps, improving inventory accuracy, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong safety culture and safe work environment through audits, start-ups, and inspections.
  • Plan and direct daily work activities to meet daily goals.
  • Identify training gaps and needed qualifications for team members.
  • Monitor and improve inventory accuracy, ensuring parts are stored properly.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to reduce non-conformances, costs, and manufacturing time.
  • Improve employee performance through reviews, training, and idea sharing.
  • Provide support for assembly processing, ValveLink, and Flowscan testing.
  • Support the implementation of best practices like 5S+1, TPM, and Kaizen events.
  • Maintain department records (hours, productivity, quality, etc.) and administer the labor agreement.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or above.
  • 3 years of proven leadership experience.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, production processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong leadership skills (disciplined, assertive, high energy).
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States; no sponsorship provided.

Desired Qualifications

  • Technology-based Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to understand, apply, and train adherence to strict processing and documentation requirements.
  • Familiarity with Nuclear Codes & Regulations, Commercial Grade Dedication, Nuclear Qualification requirements, and Standards related to Nuclear, Oxygen Cleanliness and Cryogenic assembly and testing processes.
  • Ability to teach skills and proven track record to drive process improvement.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid digital literacy including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) as well as MS Outlook.
