Google is seeking a Network Implementation Engineer, Wireless to deploy, maintain, and operate private data networks globally. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Network or Telecom Engineering, or equivalent experience, with 2 years of experience in networking technologies and wireless. This position involves building and operating networks reliably, repairing issues, and owning network documentation.

Responsibilities

Build and operate Google's network reliably and at scale.
Execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide.
Develop creative approaches and collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep operational costs low.
Monitor the network and repair issues while anticipating needs and escalating issues.
Own network documentation, update and maintain network designs and plans.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in fundamental networking technologies and protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS, DHCP, IPSec, GRE, Wi-Fi standards, DNS, Radius)
2 years of experience with wireless technologies.
Experience with 802.11 Wi-Fi standards, 802.1X access control and DHCP/IPv6 SLAAC.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Layer 1 optical transmissions systems, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations.
Experience with the triage of network issues, identification of root causes, and generation of Methods of Procedure (MOP) for network repair.
Foundational skill set in network automation, scripting (e.g., Python, Go), and standard network operational tools.
