The role involves ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency through hands-on operation, quality checks, and collaboration with supervisors and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure continuous operation of the mill during the shift.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area (5S).
- Cross-train team members on parts programming and mill set-ups.
- Perform TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) on process and equipment.
- Coordinate daily and weekly activities with the department supervisor.
- Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products.
- Minimize scrap.
- Collaborate with maintenance to resolve equipment issues promptly.
- Document downtime through a seamless reporting system for KPI tracking.
- Communicate with coworkers to ensure continuous flow of mill and material handler for proper tagging of product.
- React to schedule changes and mill conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience using special measuring devices, calipers, and tape measure.
- Ability to work with experienced operators on equipment safety and operation.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to retain taught information.
- Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames.
- Good Mechanical Aptitude.
- Ability to document down time through seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking.
- Good communication skills with coworkers.
- Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill.
- Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities.
Desired Qualifications
