AWS Professional Services seeks a Migration Modernization Architect to lead cloud solutioning, application modernization, and cloud transformation for enterprise customers. This role involves extensive client interaction, technical workshops, and driving complex migration projects from on-premises to AWS, with a focus on leveraging cloud-native technologies and GenAI tools. The position requires deep expertise in AWS infrastructure, VMware technologies, and application modernization across various programming languages.

Responsibilities

Assist customers in Application modernization, Design and development of cloud native applications and/or re-engineering applications.
Champion applications to be cloud optimized by making them well-architected.
Drive application modernization at scale with GenAI tools.
Design and build cloud ready applications using AWS platform services.
Engage in a wide variety of projects for internal customers and partners.
Collaborate across the entire AWS organization to deliver solutions and drive feature innovation.
Drive cloud solutioning and lead technical workshops.
Translate technical concepts for business stakeholders into implementable solutions.
Drive envisioning, presales and be a thought leader in the domain.
Drive Application discovery, Risk mitigation strategies, Performance testing and validation, Migration and Post-migration optimization.
Drive complex cloud transformation journey from On-prem successfully modernizing them.
Drive Migration discovery to Mobilize to lead and drive Migration and Modernization end to end.
Modernize applications in .Net, Java, Python and get them out of legacy framework.
Design and develop web applications, APIs, microservices, and data integrations for cloud native applications.
Advise on and implement AWS best practices across application development, deployment, and monitoring.

Requirements

Knowledge of the primary aws services (ec2, elb, rds, route53 & s3)
Experience implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
Experience in database (eg. SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis)
Experience in Kubernetes, Docker or containers ecosystem, or experience in software development
3+ years of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) experience
Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, Ruby or Perl
Knowledge of security and compliance standards including HIPAA and GDPR
Strong Consulting, client-facing (CXO) level communication
Ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders
Problem-solving and analytical thinking
Deep expertise in large scale cloud migrations, and AWS infrastructure
Deep expertise in VMware technologies having worked on vSphere administration, vCenter management, NSX networking, vSAN storage, HCX for migrations, VMware Cloud on AWS
Strong experience on Cloud Infra, network, Security and cloud resiliency (DR)
Demonstrated experience building scalable and highly available applications on AWS, leveraging services such as Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, etc.
Experience working in Agile development environments, with a strong focus on iterative delivery and continuous improvement.

Desired Qualifications

5+ years of IT implementation experience
Experience and technical expertise (design and implementation) in cloud computing technologies
Experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience
Experience with fully automated machine training (automatic re-training, automatic testing)
Master's degree in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field, or PhD or equivalent research experience and 6+ years of building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application experience
Preferred experience in optimizing cloud-based architectures for scalability, security, and high performance.
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Scripting (Python, PowerShell)
CI/CD pipelines
Programming Skill with Java, .Net
Container technologies
Database migrations
Knowledge of compliance frameworks
Multi-cloud experience
