Amazon seeks a Software Development Manager to lead a team focused on Pre Station Planning Technology within the Last Mile Planning organization. This role involves owning end-to-end technical vision, managing software engineers, and driving the development of innovative solutions for demand forecasting, capacity planning, and fleet planning, significantly impacting global logistics efficiency and customer experience.

Responsibilities

End-to-end ownership of a technology team and setting its technical vision.
Build and manage software engineers responsible for developing and maintaining safety and compliance software.
Champion engineering and operational excellence through metrics and assessment processes.
Establish a project management framework and development processes for high-quality, rapid software delivery.
Demonstrate strong business and technical judgment to accelerate releases and align with long-term vision.
Mentor and develop engineers.
Represent the technical organization and evangelize work to business stakeholders and senior leadership.
Raise technical excellence standards and communicate effectively to various audiences.
Be part of discussions and brainstorming with Product Managers, SMEs, and SDMs.
Drive sprint execution, identify efficiencies, and participate in design reviews.
Conduct 1:1s with team members and other managers.
Drive team and organizational vision with innovative solutions.
Exhibit customer obsession and deliver results.
Collaborate with partners, stakeholders, and UX to define product scope.
Contribute to OP plans, OE/EE/KTLO.

Requirements

8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience.
7+ years of engineering experience.
3+ years of engineering team management experience.
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
