Volvo Trucks is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist for a permanent, hybrid role in Glasgow. This hands-on position involves troubleshooting technical issues, supporting IT infrastructure and hardware, and contributing to technology projects across multiple locations, requiring frequent travel.

Responsibilities

Deliver and support IT infrastructure services across 11 locations and regional offices.
Manage technical administration of local and group IT systems.
Install and support IT hardware.
Manage change and fault events to minimize downtime.
Communicate effectively with the business.
Diagnose and resolve IT faults, minimizing downtime and disruption.
Install, maintain and support IT hardware across locations.
Manage IT assets, including inventory, lifecycle management, equipment labelling and disposal.
Carry out routine maintenance, including system updates, patch management and antivirus activities.
Work with suppliers on repairs, replacements, upgrades and new implementations.
Support infrastructure projects, security assessments and group-wide change.
Advise and coach colleagues on IT systems, applications and solutions.
Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements to IT infrastructure.

Requirements

Experience working in IT, ideally within a complex or multinational organisation.
Strong knowledge of IT environments, networked services and Microsoft Windows.
Experience supporting hardware, mobile devices and Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Experience supporting infrastructure or business projects.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with people at all levels.
A curious, adaptable and team focused approach, with the ability to learn, solve problems and work collaboratively with others.
A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel frequently.
An IT-relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience.
