As Head of IT Governance, Risk & Compliance at Saab, you will lead a critical area within the CIO Office, driving IT governance, risk management, and compliance across the organization to support digital transformation. This leadership role involves defining policies, assessing controls, and ensuring alignment with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements, while fostering agility and accountability. The position is based in Sweden and requires experience in leading teams and influencing senior stakeholders in complex, regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and engage employees within the IT Governance, Risk & Compliance area.
- Define and evolve Saab’s IT governance, risk, and compliance framework, establishing clear requirements, decision rights, and accountability across Group IT, Business Areas, and Group Functions.
- Ensure applicable legal, regulatory, contractual, and internal requirements are translated into IT policies and controls with clearly assigned ownership.
- Oversee effective compliance monitoring and control assessments across Saab IT, ensuring mandatory requirements are met and driving continuous improvement.
- Provide senior management with a consolidated view of IT risk, compliance status, and significant weaknesses in internal controls, escalating issues as needed.
- Govern IT risk assessment and exception processes.
- Drive transparency, accountability, and risk awareness across Saab IT.
- Embed governance, risk, and compliance requirements into technology investments, transformation initiatives, and ongoing IT delivery.
- Advise senior leaders on governance, risk, and compliance matters.
Requirements
- Academic degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong people leadership and talent development skills.
- Extensive experience in IT governance, risk management, compliance, or internal control.
- Experience establishing governance frameworks, policies, and decision models in large global organisations.
- Strong understanding of risk management, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience advising and influencing senior leaders in complex organisations.
- Experience driving governance, risk, or compliance transformation initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Fluency in both Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to pass a security vetting.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the defence industry or other highly regulated and security-sensitive industries is considered an advantage.
