Music Expression at Spotify is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and develop the user-facing layer and frontend SDKs with React/TypeScript. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team and contributing to technical discussions to shape platform decisions.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain scalable backend services (Java)
Create and evolve APIs and services connecting user experiences with internal scalable infrastructure, applying product requirements
Drive improvements to system architecture, performance, and developer experience
Develop and enhance user-facing layer and frontend SDKs (React/TypeScript)
Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers and data specialists
Contribute to technical discussions and help shape platform decisions

Requirements

Experienced in designing and developing backend applications in Java
Solid understanding of React, and TypeScript
Passionate about delivering end-to-end experiences and software architecture across back-end, front-end, and APIs
Growth mindset, curiosity, and willingness to be experimental
Care about agile software development and a culture of constant learning and improvement
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate ideas effectively
Experience and passion for mentoring and encouraging collaborative teams

Desired Qualifications

Experience with infrastructure-related technologies is a plus
