Emerson is looking for a Field Service Engineer in Charlotte, NC, to analyze and solve engineering problems for control systems at customer locations. Responsibilities

Perform on-site instruction of customer personnel.
Write and modify maintenance procedures.
Conduct quality control tests and product evaluations.
Direct customer personnel in installation, modification, and repair of control systems.
Provide engineering advisory assistance to customers and liaison within the company.
Create timely reports on activities, problems, and services.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2+ years of related experience engaging with customers for the installation of control systems, loading application software, loading, installing and maintaining network equipment.
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications

Experience programming with PLC and/or DCS software.
Professional and working knowledge of networking technology; including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, firewalls, and routers.
SCADA and datalink experience.
Experience with Emerson Ovation software.
