Emerson is looking for an Embedded Software Co-Op to join their firmware team. Responsibilities include designing and implementing validations, creating documentation, and assembling test fixtures. Responsibilities

  • Engage firmware team to interpret upstream requirements to design, document, and implement supporting validations.
  • Perform project and product documentation in accordance with departmental and company procedures and standards.
  • Collaborate with other members of the project team to deliver features that are implemented, tested, and documented.
  • Design, assemble, and maintain test fixtures.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Ability to understand basic mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
  • Strong analytical problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Programming experience in C# (Test), C++ (Firmware), or similar object-oriented programming languages.
  • Commitment to full-time (40 hours/week) Co-op experience in Marshalltown, IA.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Desired Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of common software test methods.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools (TeamCity, Jenkins).
  • Experience with distributed version control.
  • Experience with ARM embedded processor platforms.
