AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a skilled Data Center Technician in Mumbai, India, to join their team. The role involves maintaining and operating the AWS global cloud infrastructure, including servers, networking, and hardware components, as well as troubleshooting and responding to operational issues. This position requires knowledge of server hardware, cabling standards, and troubleshooting methodologies.

Responsibilities

Work as part of the Operations team responsible for data center infrastructure maintenance and upkeep.
Perform server rack installation, hardware break-fix, network troubleshooting, and respond to operational stability issues.
Serve as a primary contact for internal customers (Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, Technical Operations) and external service partners (Hardware Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers).
Meet SLAs for assigned trouble tickets, acting as the first line of touch for hardware troubleshooting.
Participate in on-call duties, scheduled maintenance, and change management activities.
Attend team meetings for metric analysis and goal achievement discussions.
Understand and apply departmental policies, procedures, safety, and security protocols.
Contribute to documentation, root cause analysis for operational issues, and process improvement initiatives.
Support DC infrastructure equipment including racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, and cables.
Work within server and equipment enclosures where space is compact.

Requirements

Knowledge of server hardware and components
Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
2+ years of data center experience
Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
Experience in networking
Ability to work 24x7 shift rotation

Desired Qualifications

Experience working in a colocation data center facility
