Responsibilities
- Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise.
- Maintain existing co-located and in-house Data Centers.
- Assist in building and bringing online new Data Centers.
- Continuously improve processes and procedures for operational excellence.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Liaise with internal teams and management groups.
- Ensure adherence to and exceed local Health & Safety standards.
- Create and maintain metrics to drive positive changes in Data Center operations.
- Assist in implementing service methodologies like incident, problem, change, and capacity management.
Requirements
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
- 4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
- 3+ years of managing technical teams with significant personnel management experience.
- Proven ability to develop engineers and build successful teams.
- Experience dealing with high severity situations, understanding wider blast implications, and potential consequences of differing outcome scenarios.
- Experience in Change Management & Fault Management.
- Proven experience dealing with external vendors, including problem and conflict management.
- Ability to demonstrate experience in improving both good and bad processes, including process mapping and implementing remediation steps.
- Experience in influencing the Safety culture of the Data Center organization.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM field, or 4+ years of network and operating system support experience.
- 1+ years of Agile methods and processes experience.
- Experience in capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis, or similar.
- Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts.
- Experience implementing change management successfully transitioning programs into large-scale operations.
- Experience managing both high & low performing employees.
- Conflict management skills.
