Qualcomm seeks a highly skilled Cross-Functional Engineer for high-speed electrical wireline systems (SerDes). This role involves designing, analyzing, and optimizing interconnects, ensuring accurate analog modeling, mixed-signal system verification, calibration, and power estimation in collaboration with digital, firmware, and validation engineers.

Responsibilities

Oversee development and verification of behavioral models for analog and mixed-signal circuits.
Collaborate with design and firmware teams to implement calibration algorithms for analog/mixed-signal blocks.
Simulate analog subsystems to confirm functionality and other design characteristics.
Ensure proper interaction between analog, digital, and firmware components.
Support silicon validation engineers for silicon bring-up and correlate pre-silicon models with post-silicon measurements.
Develop and maintain power models for high-speed SerDes and correlate measurements with predictions.
Guide and mentor engineers in analog modeling, mixed-signal verification, calibration, and power estimation.

Requirements

Strong background in high-speed (106Gbps and higher) SerDes architecture, modeling, and verification.
Proficiency in SystemVerilog and behavioral modeling techniques for analog and mixed-signal designs.
Knowledge of calibration algorithms and equalization techniques for SerDes.
Previous experience in high-speed analog/mixed-signal design or modeling, analog/mixed-signal or digital verification, or post-silicon measurements of complex high-speed wireline systems.
Strong understanding of analog design fundamentals, including ADCs, DACs, clock generation/distribution, analog equalizers, and transmitter drivers, including mixed-signal calibrations.
Experience with EDA tools for schematic entry and verification.
Proficiency in digital RTL code (SystemVerilog), firmware code (C), and digital verification tools and techniques.

Desired Qualifications

Design experience with specific circuit blocks such as continuous time linear equalizer, slicer, high-speed ADC, voltage-controlled oscillator, phase interpolator, bandgap reference, voltage regulator, serializer, deserializer, voltage/current-mode transmitter, phase-locked loop, phase detector.
Hands-on experience with SPICE simulators, AMS simulation tools (Cadence, Synopsys, or equivalent).
Familiarity with IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet) and OIF standards.
Scripting knowledge (Python, Matlab, etc.) for automation of power estimation and system verification.
Proficiency in using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, TDR, VNA, and spectrum analyzers.
