The Buyer for Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) is responsible for daily forecast planning and materials management of non-inventory packaging supplies. This role involves executing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, developing internal customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute daily forecast and effective materials management of all non-inventory packaging supplies
Execute purchase order creation
Liaise with suppliers to secure prompt deliveries
Develop relationships with primary internal customers, external suppliers, and other Amazon Teams
Work in full compliance with the company Spending and Transaction Policy
Plan truck deliveries and time slots for deliveries upfront with suppliers
Communicate accurate delivery schedules to local FC materials receiving teams
Act as escalation POC to ensure deliveries are offloaded as per agreed timelines
Work with Operations and on-site procurement teams to define strategies to mitigate space constraints
Manage and drive down the number of Invoices on Hold (IOH) requests
Provide support to other buyers in other regions as and when required
Provide training to new buyers
Deliver Procurement metrics in line with set targets, including KPI metrics, cost savings, no FC stock-out issues, and achieving individual project objectives
Perform compliance checks on purchase requisitions
Create, modify, or deprecate procurement catalogs
Perform Vendor Onboarding tasks

Requirements

Knowledge of advanced English at CEFR level B2/C1
Experience with MS Office, in particular MS Excel

Desired Qualifications

Experience in procurement and purchasing, including supplier relationship management
Fluent in Italian (speak, write, and read)
Fluent in Japanese (speak, write, and read)
Fluent in German (speak, write, and read)
Fluent in Arabic (speak, write, and read)
