Responsibilities
- Correctly welds pieces of metal together.
- Prepares materials for welding, cuts, grinds, and cleans metal.
- Utilizes fabrication skills to complete all phases of fabrication.
- Provides feedback and input into the fabrication process regarding order of assembly, design, materials and fixtures.
- Rebuilds drill pipes by welding tools together.
- Learns and practices bit grinding.
- Learns and repairs rocktools such as hammers and bits.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in welding/fabrication.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, including welding diagrams and symbols.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Understanding of fabrication processes.
- Ability to learn and practice bit grinding.
- Ability to learn and repair rocktools such as hammers and bits.
- Ability to drive a truck of class C licence.
- Certificate in Metal Fabrication or Equivalent.
- Trade Certificate, Diploma or Equivalent.
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to drive a truck of class C licence and HiAB operation is an added advantage.
