This full-time, on-site Assembler I position on the 2nd shift (2:00PM - 10:30PM) in Richmond involves assembling gasket plate heat exchangers using tools and following diagrams. Key duties include quality control, documentation, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizen and 5S.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products or components using tools and instructions (diagrams, blueprints).
  • Perform quality checks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
  • Complete production forms, reports, and record assembly data.
  • Receive daily work assignments and execute production with Standard Operating Procedures and blueprints.
  • Report deviations (Safety, Quality, Parts, Equipment) and actively participate in Daily Status Board Meetings.
  • Review and suggest improvements for Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Identify and drive Kaizen improvements for waste elimination (time, motion, transportation, inventories).
  • Engage in daily & weekly 5S routines to achieve and sustain high standards.
  • Seek cross-training opportunities and identify ways to add value.
  • Work effectively with other assemblers, communicate, and rotate tasks.
  • Utilize downtime for learning new processes and running improvements.
  • Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using lifts.

  • Ability to assemble products or components using tools and instructions (diagrams, blueprints).
  • Perform quality checks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
  • Document processes, complete production forms, reports, and record assembly data.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and blueprints.
  • Report deviations (Safety, Quality, Parts, Equipment) and engage in Daily Status Board Meetings.
  • Suggest improvements for Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Identify and implement Kaizen improvements.
  • Participate in daily & weekly 5S routines.
  • Cross-train within different manufacturing processes.
  • Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using lifts.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience in assembly is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures.
  • Understanding of Kaizen and 5S principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams and blueprints.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift (2:00PM - 10:30PM).
