Synopsys is looking for a Staff Engineer in Applications Engineering in Poland to drive innovations in AI-assisted EDA workflows and deliver cutting-edge DFT solutions. You will provide expertise in test solutions, implement DFT techniques, and deploy AI flows for customers, contributing to next-generation test technologies and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Providing expertise for test solutions during design planning, budgeting, and implementation.
  • Conducting test methodology design rules checking during RTL coding stages.
  • Implementing and validating DFT techniques such as scan compression, core wrapping, and logic & memory Built-In Self-Test (BIST).
  • Generating and validating Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG) patterns, including advanced fault models.
  • Participating in customer design and flow reviews to ensure seamless integration.
  • Analyzing and debugging diagnostics to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Supporting tape-out readiness by delivering high-quality test logic and test patterns.
  • Deploying and tuning agentic AI flows for DFT — scan insertion, ATPG setup, DRC triage, and diagnostics — at customer sites, and feeding real-world findings back into the product roadmap.

Requirements

  • BSc with 7+ years/MSc with 5+ years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other relevant fields of study.
  • Experience with RTL coding, DFT insertion, scan synthesis, ATPG, and MBIST architecture planning.
  • Excellent knowledge in pattern generation and silicon bring-up processes.
  • Strong understanding of protocols like 1149.x, 1500 ad 1687.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and debug complex issues.
  • Practical fluency with LLM-based coding assistants and agentic tools in an engineering workflow, and a clear point of view on where they can deliver value.
