Responsibilities

Monitor daily backup jobs and ensure successful completion.
Investigate and resolve backup failures, alerts, and performance issues.
Perform backup, restore, and recovery operations for files, folders, databases, and virtual machines.
Validate backup success rates and maintain backup health.
Support backup policy creation, modification, and optimization.
Administer Commvault CommServe, Media Agents, and Client Agents.
Perform service health checks and readiness validation.
Monitor storage utilization, retention policies, and deduplication environments.
Support Commvault software patching, updates, and maintenance.
Manage backup schedules, storage policies, and media management.
Troubleshoot backup failures, network connectivity issues, and restore-related incidents.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring backup issues.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams for issue resolution.
Ensure adherence to SLA and operational procedures.
Perform file-level, server-level, database-level, and VM-level restoration activities.
Support disaster recovery testing and backup validation exercises.
Verify recoverability of critical business data.
Monitor backup infrastructure using Commvault Command Center and CommCell Console.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly backup operation reports.
Maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
