Arla Foods is seeking an experienced Transport Team Leader for their Inbound Logistics team in Chester. This full-time role involves leading a shift of drivers responsible for raw milk collection, ensuring operational efficiency, legal compliance, and health & safety standards. The position requires strong people management skills to motivate and develop the team.

Responsibilities

Lead a shift in the day-to-day operation of raw milk collection.
Manage a team of drivers operating Bulk Farm collection and Bulk Tanker delivery vehicles.
Ensure daily activity aligns with the business plan, legal compliance, and health & safety.
Plan and organize the shift for efficient and effective management of the milk collection operation.
Act as the first point of contact for farmers and resolve issues.
Participate in route planning using systems like Verilocation, Opitool, and SAP.
Motivate the team, conduct training, manage driver groups, and handle performance management, absence, discipline, and grievances.

Requirements

Experienced Transport Team Leaders or Shift Managers.
Experience managing a team of drivers in a similar fast-paced environment.
Transport Manager CPC qualification or willingness to gain it (costs covered by Arla).
Proactive and forward-thinking leadership abilities.
Ability to deliver accurate results under tight and pressured time constraints.
Strong people skills, aiming to bring out the best in people.
