Qualcomm is looking for a motivated Support Engineer to manage and maintain the Boulder TBS Consolidated Lab, crucial for wireless technology development and 6G initiatives. The role involves ensuring station health, providing infrastructure support, triaging issues, and managing daily lab operations to support engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain TBS station and pool health, identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Support daily lab operations including troubleshooting, quarantine management, and recovery.
  • Assist with deployment, configuration, and upgrades of TBS stations, devices, and infrastructure.
  • Support TBS tools like Custom Scheduler, AXIOM, and Fleet Manager.
  • Perform RF performance analysis, test failure triage, and basic root cause investigations.
  • Manage UE calibration, device readiness, and station resource availability.
  • Generate operational reports and analytics on station utilization and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Tier 2 and Tier 3 engineering teams to escalate issues and implement fixes.
  • Support hardware, software, and environment management across lab systems.
  • Document issues, solutions, and operational procedures for knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR Associate's degree and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.
  • Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years of work experience (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years).
  • Experience with wireless test systems, lab operations, or infrastructure support.
  • Knowledge of network concepts and experience debugging network connectivity issues.
  • Familiarity with RF concepts, Linux and Windows environments, and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across diverse engineering teams.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree and 1+ year of Engineering Technician or related work experience.
  • OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of Engineering Technician or related work experience.
  • Optional: Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or completion of a military technical or trade school program.
