Responsibilities

  • Lead Amazon FC WHS Site operations.
  • Build a world-class WHS organization and a strong WHS culture.
  • Lead a team of safety managers and partner with operations teams.
  • Ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk.
  • Build trust and confidence with the Operations Team.
  • Influence change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
  • Identify best practices and incorporate them into company safety policies.
  • Possess excellent safety program and relevant environmental and ergonomic knowledge.
  • Help execute leadership development plans for the Safety team.
  • Communicate safety team expectations and give frequent and appropriate feedback.
  • Ensure safety managers/teams are executing to core competencies.
  • Partner with site operations leadership to implement and sustain WHS policies.
  • Ensure compliance with Amazon Safety Policies and local/state/central regulations (Factories Act, 1948; Building & Other Construction Workers Act; state-specific rules).
  • Measure site performance against published safety policy requirements; identify gaps and develop corrective action plans.
  • Analyze safety metrics; review weekly and monthly incident trends to allocate resources.
  • Conduct frequent site safety audits to identify non-compliant equipment and processes; implement solutions.
  • Audit record-keeping practices and system entries to ensure compliance.
  • Audit workplace organization and Associate behaviour.
  • Deliver on-time, quality safety projects aligned with Operations priorities.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the site safety team.
  • Create and execute leadership development plans for direct reports.
  • Set clear expectations and provide regular, constructive feedback.
  • Engage with Associates and leaders to identify safety programme improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain open communication on progress and resolution.
  • Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained on their responsibilities under each policy.
  • Audit the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of all required safety training.
  • Identify and incorporate best practices into company safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of global environmental, health and safety regulations.
