Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to building the data platform for the age of AI. The role involves writing and debugging code, participating in code reviews, and collaborating with partner teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of analytics experiences.

Responsibilities

Learn and write extensible, maintainable code using coding patterns and best practices.
Assist in debugging, testing, and identifying issues using tools like logs, telemetry, and automated code analysis.
Support the development and testing of design options, considering system dependencies, performance, scalability, and security.
Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and learn coding standards.
Incorporate AI tools responsibly across the software development lifecycle and review AI-generated changes.
Support security best practices, including code invariants, security testing, monitoring, and compliance.
Collaborate with partner teams to ensure feature integration, end-to-end testing, and smooth deployment.
Work on call to support customers and resolve service degradation, downtime, or interruptions.

Requirements

Associate's Degree or Apprenticeship in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ months work or internship experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR equivalent experience.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR equivalent experience.
