Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support a world-class OpenSearch Service managing thousands of search domains.
- Focus on scalability, performance, service robustness, and cost trade-offs in a highly-virtualized, elastic, cloud-based environment.
- Apply scientific analysis and mathematical modeling techniques to predict, measure, and evaluate designs and platform success.
- Continuously explore, improve, enhance, automate, and optimize distributed systems and tools.
- Work alongside a dedicated operations team for smooth 24x7 worldwide service operation.
- Participate in setting the vision and objectives for Amazon OpenSearch Service.
- Invent the future of search.
- Mentor other SDEs and advise leadership on technical vision.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling of new and existing systems).
- 3+ years of experience with big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, Lucene/SOLR or Storm/Samza.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
