Responsibilities

Participate in setting the overall goal and roadmap for YouTube Create.
Provide technical guidance for the team of ~40 engineers working on YouTube Create App in Bengaluru.
Provide technical leadership and advocate for best engineering practices across YouTube teams.
Provide technical mentorship and support TLMs and TLs on technical decisions.
Co-own delivery of OKR and roadmap with the TLMs.
Drive cross-organizational collaboration to ensure integrated and aligned strategies.
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development.
7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end (Java, Python, or C++) and front-end (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS).
Experience owning outcomes and decision making.
Experience solving ambiguous problems.
Experience influencing stakeholders.
Deep expertise in domain.

Desired Qualifications

Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
