Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust assembly processes for quantum devices.
- Document processes and implementation across our global team.
- Drive external packaging material vendors to leverage existing supply chains to deliver solutions needed for packaging of quantum devices.
- Evaluate external packaging suppliers as scaling partners.
- Develop and implement test equipment and processes for evaluating packaging solutions.
- Support development of advanced packaging technologies.
- Work in teams or independently as required.

Requirements
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Role requires access to export-controlled information and will require verification of U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency or other protected status.
- Verification of citizenship with a valid passport will be required.
Desired Qualifications
- Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.
- Experience managing outside vendors.
- Demonstrates the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams and effectively communicate to meet deadlines and deliver results.
- Experience with industry standard packaging materials and processes.
- Experience in cryogenic materials.
- Experience in microwave device packaging.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to drive innovation and efficiency, e.g., performance modeling and analysis, research gathering, day-to-day task automation.
- Evaluate agentic solutions with measurable metrics and human-in-the-loop safeguards following Microsoft Responsible AI requirements for generative AI.

- Typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year.
- Specific range for San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
