Emerson seeks a skilled Quality Calibration and Metrology Engineer in Cluj-Napoca, Romania for a hybrid full-time role. This position is key to implementing and stabilizing calibration processes, ensuring quality standards, and providing technical expertise in calibration methodologies and flow meter performance. The engineer will lead development and certification of calibration facilities, manage test plans, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead development of the Calibration Facility to ensure all certifications are covered for product calibration.
Lead certification and accreditation processes for ISO17025, MID.
Manage Gold Meter test plan, including issuing corrective actions and driving them to closure.
Develop, maintain, and report quality-related calibration metrics.
Develop Calibrator training and qualification programs.
Ensure calibration personnel are well-trained and consistently use correct methods.
Lead efforts to resolve calibration-related quality issues.
Lead continuous improvement projects with respect to calibration using statistical process control techniques.
Ensure effective coordination with other worldwide locations regarding calibration processes.
Support customer calibration witnesses and calibration or sensor performance related Support Requests.
Assist Sales departments in determining customer calibration requirements.
Own and update calibration manuals and procedures according to local and international standards.
Perform root cause analysis as required.
Initiate and/or lead project teams for continuous improvement projects and capital investments.
Lead Material Review Board (MRB) and define the final disposition of Calibration Non-Conforming Products.
Lead and coordinate the development, purchase, installation and commissioning processes for new and replacement calibration rigs.

Requirements

Engineering Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (or recognized equivalent) is required.
Demonstrable previous relevant work experience in engineering/quality in a production environment (approximately 3 years).
Knowledge of machining, mechanical assembly, electronics assembly and testing.
Knowledge of Flow Dynamics preferred.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM.
Knowledge of Control programming and PLC.
In-depth knowledge of relevant standards (ISO17025, 10790, 9001, MID etc.).
Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process control) techniques and software (JMP, Minitab etc).
Knowledge of Quality tools (Ishikawa, Design of Experiment – DOE etc.).
Fluent English language skills; verbal, reading and writing.

Desired Qualifications

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes in the area of responsibility.
Familiarity with ERP systems; Oracle experience is an advantage.
Good communications skills.
