Qualcomm is looking for a Power Management Systems Design and Verification Engineer to research, specify, design, develop, integrate, and verify power management hardware and software solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet system-level performance and power metrics.

Responsibilities

Research, design, and develop hardware and software solutions at the chipset and/or feature level for PMIC Systems.
Specify power management products, functions, and supporting software to meet chipset level requirements.
Assist in test platform HW/SW development, test planning, and post-silicon verification.
Triages problems at the system-level to determine root cause.
Apply expertise in power electronics, control interfaces, thermal analysis, power distribution networks, firmware coding, scripting languages (Python), PCB layout, battery chemistry, and industry standard interfaces.
Develop and review PCB schematics and design layouts for specific sub-systems.
Utilize design and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Excel, and Mentor Graphics.
Document details about components, data, and functionality for a PMIC.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 1+ year of Software, Hardware, Electrical, Systems, or related engineering work experience.
OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience with PMIC Systems.
Experience with power electronics (switch mode and linear).
Experience with high bandwidth/low latency control interfaces.
Experience with thermal analysis.
Experience with power distribution networks.
Experience with firmware coding.
Experience with Python or similar scripting languages.
Experience with PCB layout and construction.
Experience with battery chemistry and industry standard interfaces.

Desired Qualifications

2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: SMPS, LDO, Buck Converters, Boost Converters, Clock system generation and distribution, Battery charging and USB, Wireless battery charger, Battery fuel gauging, Haptics ERM/LRA, Precision references, Mobile phone hardware, PWB design, Chipset infrastructure and digital interfaces.
