Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee payroll operations across assigned APAC countries, ensuring vendors deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services.
- Monitor payroll performance, operational controls, service delivery, KPIs, and SLAs to ensure payroll obligations are met.
- Manage escalated payroll, compliance, and service-related issues, driving timely resolution.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for business units, payroll vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation, tax regulations, labor requirements, and statutory obligations.
- Lead payroll-related system enhancements, interface changes, testing activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members.
- Support strategic projects, vendor governance, workforce planning, management reporting, and initiatives that drive operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of payroll operations experience, including APAC payroll exposure.
- Minimum 2-3 years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, payroll controls, statutory compliance requirements, and payroll vendor management.
- Experience managing service delivery and operational performance metrics.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, stakeholder management, and customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems.
Desired Qualifications
- Multi-country APAC payroll experience is a plus.
- Experience working with outsourced payroll providers is a plus.
- Experience in Human Resource Information System, payroll implementation, or project management is a plus.
- Knowledge of Dayforce, SAP, Workday, or similar HCM platforms is a plus.
