The Order Processor interprets customer specifications and drawings to create manufacturing instructions for doors and frames. This role requires strong mathematical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in computer applications like Microsoft Office and drafting software, and excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

Interpret customer specifications, drawings, and order information to create manufacturable work-order instructions.
Prepare or revise detailed drawings for doors, frames, and related products.
Research technical requirements and resolve discrepancies.
Communicate with customers and manufacturing partners to ensure accurate and timely order completion.
Perform all duties related to the processing of customer orders, from basic stock to configured orders.
Handle technical inquiries from manufacturing and customers.
Produce drawings for manufacturing using AutoCAD or DraftSight.
Submit and document information requests, clarifications, and changes.
Communicate with customers regarding discrepancies and application conflicts.
Provide technical and problem-solving support to manufacturing and customers.
Calculate or verify pricing for custom products.
Review order documentation and prepare orders for processing.
Function well in a team environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Applied mathematical and problem-solving skills, including algebra and geometry
Ability to interpret hardware templates, blueprints, and architectural or structural drawings
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other common computer applications
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated organizational, planning, and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple concurrent orders while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of time.
Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office machinery.
Must be able to work overtime, including extended shifts and weekends, as business needs require.
Must be able to perform in an open cube work environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.

Desired Qualifications

Associate’s degree or technical training in computer aided drafting, mathematics, or related field.
Relevant experience in custom order detailing may be considered in place of preferred education.
Experience with AutoCAD, DraftSight, or similar technical drafting applications
Knowledge of drafting, detailing, drawing interpretations, and related design principles
General knowledge of steel construction
Hollow metal manufacturing experience
Understanding of the architectural hardware industry, building products and/or structures
