Emerson seeks a Mechatronic Engineer in Laatzen, Germany, to develop innovative electric and pneumatic actuators with embedded electronics for industrial automation. Responsibilities

Develop mechatronic, electric and pneumatic modules with embedded electronics
Develop and optimize control algorithms
Programming of firmware and hardware solutions, including FPGAs
Create and support hardware and software test concepts
Contribute to development projects focused on new electric and hybrid actuators and platform solutions while ensuring compliance with applicable processes and project milestones
Contribute to the definition of functional specifications based on approved product requirements
Collaborate in international, interdisciplinary and cross-functional development teams
Develop innovative solution concepts within product development projects using appropriate methods and integrating new technologies

Requirements

Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering or related technical field
5+ years of professional experience, ideally in Automation technologies
Very good knowledge in FPGA programming with VHDL / C
Good knowledge of control engineering
Good knowledge of common CAD systems
Very good communication skills in both English and German, both written and spoken
Willingness to travel (~20%)

Desired Qualifications

Another language is a plus
Experience working in global teams with colleagues across Asia and the Americas
Basic Knowledge in PCB Design with Altium
Good knowledge of CREO/Windchill is a plus
