Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize the mechanical driveline architecture for a low-reaction angle tool.
  • Conduct literature studies, benchmarking, and driveline analysis.
  • Simulate and evaluate gear ratio alternatives and system performance.
  • Design gears, shafts, bearings, housings, and related driveline components.
  • Perform engineering calculations, design verification, and concept optimization.
  • Collaborate with Atlas Copco specialists and external experts.
  • Conduct design reviews and present findings and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Machine Design, Product Development, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of and/or strong interest in mechanical design and product development.
  • Familiarity with power transmission systems and gears.
  • Experience with CAD design and engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of machine elements such as bearings, shafts, and gearboxes.
  • Proficiency in engineering calculations and simulations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and mechanical assemblies.
  • Analytical, curious, self-driven, and proactive.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • The thesis project is intended for one student.
  • Carried out in close collaboration with Atlas Copco specialists.
