Responsibilities

Investigate and compare current research in runtime library updates and state migration.
Explore state migration while the application continues processing, identifying, capturing, serializing, and restoring different types of states.
Detect incompatible state and implement rollback mechanisms, considering the impact on programmers and the level of automation in migration.
Prototype and showcase one or more methods for updating a shared library with state migration for a program at runtime.
Investigate the impact on RAN functions, including time to upgrade, implementation complexity, security risks, state handling, and rollback detection.

Requirements

Master's student in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
Interest in operating systems, software updating, distributed systems, or runtime systems.
Knowledge of programming in C/C++ or a similar systems programming language.
