Alstom is seeking an E&M System Engineer in Toronto, ON, to contribute to the decarbonization of public transit systems. This role involves system definition, analysis using MBSE, specification writing, and managing technical risks throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities
- Participate in system definition and sizing.
- Engage in railway system analysis using an MBSE approach.
- Write and obtain stakeholder approval for system specifications.
- Participate in requirement analysis and development.
- Engage in change analysis.
- Deliver Turnkey Bundle baselines according to quality, cost, and planning expectations.
- Identify and coordinate technical inputs/outputs configuration (requirements, RFIs, change requests, early warnings).
- Ensure alignment with subsystems.
- Maintain technical consistency throughout the development lifecycle.
- Identify and review assumptions and exclusions related to baselines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related scientific field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or in the process of obtaining it.
- Experience in project deployment across the full lifecycle, including commissioning.
- At least 5 years of experience working on railway projects in a technical role.
- Strong customer relationship management in contractual settings.
- Proactive communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
- Resilience, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset.
- Fluency in English, including writing in Simplified Technical English.
