AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Logistics Specialist to manage the daily flow of materials, equipment, and inventory within their global operations. This role involves analyzing processes, managing inventory, arranging shipments, and ensuring operational efficiency while maintaining a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, inventory, and warehousing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis related to process, inventory, efficiency, and cost improvements.
  • Keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company.
  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory.
  • Check out parts as needed to internal customers.
  • Arrange, schedule, and support shipments across sites and other locations.
  • Unpack boxes and verify contents.
  • Maintain a clean environment, orderliness, and safety in all work spaces.
  • Proactively propose ideas to improve Logistics Metrics and Performance at the Data Center.
  • Assemble, address, pack, and arrange for the shipment of materials.
  • Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from sites.
  • Maintain up-to-date metrics dashboards and/or excel spreadsheets and create reports.
  • Support inventory accuracy through regular reconciliation and reporting.
  • Perform on-call duties after normal working hours, rotating by team members.

Requirements

  • Experience as a logistics professional supporting inventory cycle counts, shipments, maintenance, stock control functions and reverse logistics.
  • 2+ years of shipping & receiving, inventory and warehousing practices experience.
  • Ability to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach, walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
  • Ability to coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
  • Ability to push or pull heavy objects into position while maintaining balance.
  • Ability to wear required PPE including safety shoes, as needed.
  • Willingness and demonstrated ability to work in the following physical conditions with reasonable accommodations: Push or pull heavy objects into position, Work in a noisy environment.
  • Commitment to a culture of safety.
  • Must be able to shift priorities without friction.

Desired Qualifications

  • The ideal Logistics Specialist will proactively propose ideas to improve Logistics Metrics and Performance at the Data Center.
  • This position involves occasional trips across the cluster to support other sites and frequent lifting of materials (with support from teammates available).
  • Work in a noisy environment.
  • Stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasionally be exposed to cold or hot weather.
  • Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts.
