Responsibilities
- Assist in manufacturing operations, part placement, removing subassemblies, graining/grinding, drilling, cleaning, and passivation.
- Perform Special Processes such as Riveting, Bonding, and Torquing after completing necessary qualifications.
- Perform other related tasks as directed by the supervisor/manager.
- Use tools such as torque/Allen wrenches, measuring tape, drill, and sander.
- Assist in carrying out inspections (e.g., dimensional) and tests (e.g., watertightness) following ALSTOMs guidelines.
- Elaborate and suggest the creation of devices/templates using drawings to minimize repetitive operations and improve processes.
- Check material reception from the warehouse and store materials properly to maintain workplace order and efficiency.
- Obtain needed certifications (crane) and qualifications (manlifts).
- Assist in performing daily production shear tests and collecting welded specimens for tensile testing.
- Ensure logistic bins are filled with the correct material for daily production shear testing or other quality assurance tests.
- Read blueprints or work instructions, and set up jigs and fixtures.
- Safely use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Work safely in compliance with Alstom Zero Deviation Procedures and Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.
- Perform caulking and finish sealing operations in accordance with ALSTOM standards.
- Communicate with Supervision, Engineering, and Quality Departments regarding design or material changes.
- Be adaptable to different work assignments and maintain a clean working environment.
- Listen, learn, comprehend, and assist welders to achieve company and customer requirements.
- Assist in new process development and troubleshooting of products.
- Utilize digital technology in day-to-day work responsibilities.
- Demonstrate acceptable hand/eye coordination and pass a visual acuity test.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in sheet metal or fabrication manufacturing.
- Ability to use tools such as torque/Allen wrenches, measuring tape, drill, sander (pneumatic/battery).
- Must be able to read blueprints or work instructions.
- Must have working knowledge and ability to safely use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Ability to work in a safe manner compliant with all Alstom Zero Deviation Procedures and Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.
- Acceptable hand/eye coordination and ability to pass visual acuity test.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in sheet metal or fabrication manufacturing is preferred.
- Automatic/hand operated burning equipment
- Weld symbols
- Fabrication and application of jigs/ Mechanical Principles and experience
