Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software using Java, SQL, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement new features.
- Evaluate enhancement requests and help identify technical solutions.
- Contribute to automated testing and overall software quality.
- Maintain technical documentation and coding standards.
- Learn and apply modern development tools, frameworks, and best practices.
- Participate in troubleshooting, upgrades, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, coding bootcamp completion, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of object-oriented programming using Java.
- Familiarity with Java frameworks such as Spring Framework, Hibernate / JPA.
- Awareness of servlet containers such as Jetty.
- Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Working knowledge of Git version control.
- Experience using IntelliJ IDEA.
- Familiarity with SQL databases, including writing SQL queries, JDBC connectivity, and ORM-based data access.
- Understanding of object-oriented, component-oriented, and service-oriented design principles.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence in English and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, technicians, and assemblers in English.
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to GWT / SmartGWT is a plus.
- Experience in Agile software development methodologies is a plus.
- Experience in Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) technologies is a plus.
- Experience in Linux administration or command-line tools is a plus.
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.
