The WHS Officer will partner with a Fulfillment Center operations team to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance with local and regional regulations. This role involves leading continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risks and create a safe working environment, leveraging lean principles and kaizens. The officer will also be responsible for managing a safety team, including developing their skills and ensuring core competencies are met.
Ansvarsområden
- Partner with a site operations team in a Fulfillment Center to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk.
- Build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.
- Communicate clear, concise, and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing.
- Instruct and train Operations Leaders in company safety policies.
- Assist operations site teams in incorporating safety standards.
- Identify best practices and incorporate them into company safety policies.
- Possess excellent safety program and relevant safety, environmental, and ergonomic knowledge.
- Lead safety team members: Safety Specialist, Safety Coordinators, Onsite first aid Associates.
- Create and execute leadership development plans for their Safety Associates.
- Communicate safety team expectations and give frequent and appropriate feedback.
- Ensure safety teams are executing to the core competencies of an Amazon safety professional.
Krav
- Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or a related field.
- Experience with increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
Önskade kvalifikationer
- Master's degree in Health and Safety or a related field.
- Experience implementing and enforcing safety standards within warehouse and maintenance environments.
- Experience in transportation operations and industry knowledge.
- Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Experience in problem solving and data analytics.
