I korthet

The WHS Officer will partner with site operations in a Fulfillment Center to execute safety policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles to reduce risk. Responsibilities include analyzing safety metrics, conducting audits, managing safety associates, and mentoring teams to foster a safe working environment.

Ansvarsområden

  • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon Safety Policies.
  • Measure sites’ performance against published requirements in safety policies and identify plans for remediation.
  • Analyze safety metrics and review incident trends to justify resource allocation.
  • Perform frequent site safety audits to identify non-compliance and implement solutions.
  • Audit recordkeeping practices and Global Safety Database entries.
  • Audit workplace organization and Associate behaviours.
  • Manage and mentor Safety Associates.
  • Seek input from Safety teams, Associates and leaders on safety program improvement opportunities.

Krav

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in industry, consulting, government or academic research.
  • 1+ years previous experience in Environment, Health & Safety or ME in Industrial Safety Engineering.
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
  • Must demonstrate ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change.
  • Must be an effective communicator, sending clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must possess excellent safety program and relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Distribution Center or Manufacturing Safety experience with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 200 people preferred.
  • Master’s degree preferred / Equivalent.
  • Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization.
  • Government Certified Safety Professional preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
  • Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
