I korthet

We are seeking a VAT Room Operator for our modern, automated cheese production facility in Lockerbie. This role involves monitoring plant performance, ensuring safety and quality standards, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives within a 24/7 operation on a rotating shift pattern. Prior manufacturing or food production experience is advantageous, with full training provided.

Ansvarsområden

  • Operate and monitor automated process equipment and plant control systems.
  • Support safe, efficient, and compliant production of dairy products.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, food safety, and health & safety.
  • Investigate process issues and contribute to problem-solving activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and operational excellence activities.
  • Highlight issues affecting daily plans and cooperate with other departments and maintenance to resolve obstacles.

Krav

  • Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, food production, or other process-driven environments.
  • Experience of plant control systems, SCADA, automated manufacturing equipment, or production IT systems (advantageous).
  • A food manufacturing background (desirable).
  • Health & safety awareness (desirable).
  • Strong problem-solving skills (desirable).
  • Calm, level-headed team player with initiative, adaptability to changing priorities, and positive contribution to a collaborative team.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Understanding of membrane filtration, pasteurization, and cheesemaking operations (highly desirable but not essential as full training provided).
