A senior manager is sought for a UNIX & Cloud Operations role, leading a team of UNIX/Linux engineers responsible for on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-hosted platforms including OpenShift and OpenStack. The position requires strong people leadership, technical ownership, and expertise in ITIL processes, automation, and various UNIX/Linux operating systems and cloud environments.

Ansvarsområden

  • Line manage UNIX/Linux and cloud engineers, handling performance management, career development, and succession planning.
  • Oversee end-to-end operations for UNIX/Linux platforms across on-prem, private cloud (Openshift/Openstack), and public cloud (Azure/OCI/etc.).
  • Develop cloud-ready skills within the team through coaching, training, and assignments.
  • Promote a culture of automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure availability, performance, capacity planning, and resilience of cloud-hosted workloads.
  • Lead incident response for cloud-based outages and complex hybrid failures.
  • Manage change, incident, problem, and availability across hybrid infrastructure.
  • Handle cloud vendors, managed service providers, and support contracts.

Krav

  • Proven people-management experience in a 24x7 operations environment.
  • Strong technical leadership skills.
  • Strong grasp of ITIL processes and cloud operational best practices.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and crisis leadership skills.
  • Strong skills in automation.
  • Strong and advanced hands-on/expertise administering at least two of RHEL, SUSE, AIX, Solaris.
  • Strong experience with at least one of Redhat Openshift, Openstack, OCI (multi-cloud preferred).
  • Deep understanding of compute, storage, networking in cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of cloud identity and access management (IAM).
  • Deep understanding of cloud security and shared responsibility model.
  • Exposure to cloud migration strategies (rehost, re-platform, refactor).
  • Understanding of cloud cost management and optimization.
