Alstom is seeking a Train Cost Leader in Saint-Bruno, QC, to drive cost efficiency and align product designs with financial objectives. This role involves coordinating Design to Cost studies, leading cost-saving initiatives, and collaborating with engineering, procurement, and project management teams.

Ansvarsområden

  • Coordinate Design to Cost studies to meet agreed objectives.
  • Ensure transformation of identified cost-saving opportunities into validated reductions.
  • Serve as the “voice” of Design to Cost within tender or project teams.
  • Apply Design to Cost tools and methodologies to identify and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Calculate and regularly update the “Cost by Unit in Development” at train and subsystem levels.
  • Define and agree on recurring cost targets with project stakeholders.
  • Organize and lead creative brainstorming sessions to identify and validate savings.
  • Establish and monitor Design to Cost KPIs and deliverables.
  • Ensure alignment with product definitions and foster effective communication among stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates to project teams on cost stakes and action plans.

Krav

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge of procurement and/or sourcing (an asset).
  • Experience within the transportation industry (railway, automotive, or heavy equipment).
  • Fluency in English and French.
  • Strong technical leadership with an autonomous and proactive mindset.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Knowledge of a third language is considered an asset when working with our international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers.
